THE SUCCESSFUL FAILURES
The struggle for education
Amounts to nothing
Cause’ their friends and relations
Are mere nobodies

Is it worth the stress?
Passing through those stages
Yet being excluded from success
Is something common these ages

The learned are as good as illiterate
And the future of the illiterates are bright
There is a place I know that can relate
Africa, the cradle of the early heights

When shall we Africans realize
That incompetency is a hindrance
To the economies that are bite-size
And the development of our kind.
