Discover the cultural practices that shape African identity

The African Cultural Learning Centre (ACLC) offers a learning pathway through African cultural traditions, history, heritage and identity. It opened on 5 November 2022 at the foundation’s head office in Omole Estate, Ikeja, Lagos.

Visitors learn about the distinctive features of different African countries: ways of life, dress, music, religion, rites, languages and beliefs. The aim is a guided, joyful journey through Africa’s gifts and talents, as part of a decolonised, Africa-centred education.

How a visit works

  • Guided tours of the centre’s displays, including the Adinkra symbols of the Akan.
  • Audiovisual presentations and discussion.
  • A visit to the African Heritage Library, at the same address.
