At Africa Memorial Day 2026, the Correct Connect Africa Foundation calls Africans and the diaspora to confront the political meaning of memory. Five years after CCAF lit its flame in Nigeria, the movement continues to challenge Africa to remember its history, reclaim its voice, and question the quality of its leadership.
Under the theme “Political Leadership and Governance in Africa – What Is the End Product?”, AMD 2026 asks a difficult but necessary question: what kind of Africa are our systems of leadership producing?

A Quick Stop at the Iyase of Benin’s Residence

Benin City, Nigeria – Fr. Anthony Aleakwe Odior, Executive Guardian of the Correct Connect Africa Foundation (CCAF), visited High Chief Sam Igbe, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom. Fr. Odior discussed CCAF’s mission to promote African identity and heritage, referencing the Akan concept of Sankofa. He introduced the Africa Memorial Day (AMD) and the African Heritage Library (AHL). High Chief Igbe congratulated Fr. Odior and donated two books to the AHL.
